IAF Basel - Festival for Contemporary Art
IAF Basel is an interdisciplinary festival for contemporary art dedicated to the African continent and its diaspora.
The interdisciplinary arts festival, IAF Basel, takes place annually in the Basel region and offers a platform for contemporary art that deals with the African continent or its diaspora. The events and art interventions of the IAF Basel take place predominantly in public spaces and are freely accessible. Photography exhibitions form the core of the festival; the other offerings are dedicated to various forms of expression of contemporary art.
The large-format open-air exhibition at Voltaplatz presents African photography by the winners of the CAP Prize 2019 including JODI BIEBER, SANNE DE WILDE & BÉNÉDICTE KURZEN, THEMBINKOSI HLATSHWAYO, ABDO SHANAN, JANSEN VAN STADEN. The exhibition is open to the public from 15 to 29 September 2019.
